Landscapers

Important requirements for landscape crews working around your new pool.

Auto fill

In most neighborhoods, the auto fill should be connected to the irrigation line through a valve box. West Bay Pools will leave the auto fill line stubbed up near the valves. You will need to extend it to your new valve box and bring the main water line to this new connection with a 2 way valve. Ensure the connection is secure and verify proper water flow. Confirm with the homeowner which line to connect to before proceeding.

Auto drain

West Bay Pools will leave the Auto Drain line stubbed up. This can be terminated in a pop up drain cover, or underground in a gravel pit. Ensure the drain outlet is properly terminated and functional.

Final ground stabilization

Implement final ground stabilization using sod or pinestraw as specified. Ensure complete coverage and proper installation to prevent erosion.

Site cleanliness

Maintain a clean work area at all times. Absolutely no dirt or debris is to enter the pool or deck areas. Thoroughly clean up all work-related materials upon completion.

Drainage and downspouts

Carefully assess existing drainage systems and downspouts. Ensure that landscaping work does not impede or alter natural water flow. If modifications are necessary, consult the homeowner or West Bay Pools project manager first.

Underground plumbing

Underground plumbing is typically installed approximately 18 inches deep. Exercise extreme caution when digging near the pool or plumbing runs. Damage to underground plumbing can lead to significant leaks, costly repairs, and potential structural issues for the pool.

Bond wire

The bond wire must remain undisturbed and in the ground. Exercise extreme caution during any excavation or ground disturbance to avoid breaking it. Breaking the bond wire compromises electrical safety and requires costly repairs.

We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks after pool completion before landscaping begins if dirt near the pool is a possibility.
